Does anyone here rinse their frozen food prior to feeding their fish? I know some people just toss a frozen cube in their tanks. I thaw my food into a container and target feed my fish. Any unused portions go into the fridge. I don't rinse it or strain the liquid from the food. Should I be rinsing it?

I dab it with a paper towel quick and soak up whatever liquid I can.

Up for debate. I don't but I struggle to keep phosphate and nitrate up too, so I don't mind a little bit dirtying up the water. Many advocate to strain. Many don't.

I feed 10 to 12 Hikari frozen cubes a day in a heavily populates 90g and don’t strain out anything for 30 years. Aside from fish poop I figure all the tiny particles in the frozen are also feeding the corals. If it was a problem I’m sure I would have noticed a problem arise with my water quality adversely affecting the whole system.

Wow. How many fish is in your tank? I have a 95 gallon with about 14 fish in my tank so far. Will be adding about 4 more. I currently feed around 3 cubes a day, target feeding.

I believe it depends on what brand/type of frozen food. I use LRS Reef Frenzy which doesnt require rinsing.

I dont rinse LRS Reef Frenzy or Hikari mysis. I always rinse PE mysis because If dont, the foam head in my skimmer is gone for several hours.
