Do you target feed your coral?

I hear some people who say you should target feed your coral, while I hear others who don't do this with their corals. I am wondering are you target feeding your coral, and how often are you doing it?

I don’t bother. I believe there may be a case to be made that corals may grow faster if you do target feed, but I try not to do anymore than I have too.

Some LPS I do because it's fun. Micromussa lords, "Favia", Acan enchinita, chalices etc.

I am lazy these days so don't bother. No doubt some coral would benefit from it but my tank is only 56 gallons so I don't want super fast growth.

I will target feed the corals that have a big reaction, like Duncan’s, but not the stuff that doesn’t appear to change. I used to do it all the time but now only once in a while. It’s more a thrill for me than a benefit to the coral I think. I mean my reactive corals are doing fine and it’s been quite a while. Also tbh I use way too much and it’s easier to maintain better nitrate levels by not doing it.

I do not but have Lot of fish and feed heavy. So I think the fish poop feeds the corals. Yummy

I will "Target Feed" my LPS corals approx 1-2x a week. At that time I turn all pumps off and feed the fish in a far corner and then BASTE the ones that seem to be the more "active" feeders.

Even on days I'm not target feeding my "Food Mix" still includes "Coral Friendly" ingredients.

Nope. I literally have 50+ LPS corals, all of which need to eat. Target feeding each of them would be a disaster. Instead, I broadcast feed zooplankton on Wednesday nights and copepods (Cyclops) on Sunday nights. Plus the usual heavy fish feedings daily (and a lot of filtration). Seems to work well.

I feed some of my LPS mysis and occasionally some Red Sea AB+ squirted right on them. My plates, Duncan, and Trachy all eat well when I offer food. My candy cane will sometimes eat, but my hammer never does. It will open it's mouth and suck in AB+ but won’t eat mysis.

Mine has a Starbucks and I look like that girl in the gif because I drink so many Mocha’s.

Otherwise I don’t like their parking lot and they might have Gorilla Glue Gel and Vodka for reefing?

I tried target feeding for a little bit. Didn't really notice a difference so I stopped.

Only target feed the fat head dendro and balanophyllia. Let the fish bio-load and light do the rest for all others

I have been spot feeding Roids to my Mushrooms and Acans twice a week but in my small 8 gal. nano it makes foam on top of the water, so I am now stopping to see what happens. I do small water changes every day so I believe that will be good enough. I would still feed some Mysis shrimp if I could figure away to do it without it going all over the place. Also, my 2 Mirco brittle stars would like some since they are always sticking an arm out for something.
