Do you target feed your coral?

I hear some people who say you should target feed your coral, while I hear others who don't do this with their corals. I am wondering are you target feeding your coral, and how often are you doing it?

Yes! It's too much fun to watch LPS eat, not to feed them! Plus, I have nems and would be doing it, anyway.

I always love watching our anemone eat!

I do and quite a bit. Just don't do more if PO4 doesn't allow for it.
It is a lot of fun, only the fish/shrimp make it a bit more stressful sometimes. But elegance, favia, candy cane, lobophyllia and acanthophyllia I will never get tired of watching them go for it. I was doing it twice/three times a week but now do it everyday. Just less and like half the tank each time, since it takes less time and the tank is big.

I add specific items to my QT tank that are meant to be metabolized by corals. I add Reef Roids, Phytoplankton.

No. No one is that feeding them in the ocean...

I dont have any non-photosynthetic corals so not a need for me. I will occasionally put reef roids or calanus in the water column but usually don't waste my time with it

My practice is to feed my tank heavy frozen 3x per day. I leave my pumps on so food blows around everywhere. Corals catch what they can and so does everything else in the tank, nems, crabs, starfish, snails, etc... just like they would with stuff blowing around in the ocean to. This is also why it's important to have good cleaner crew not just for algae but for scraps of food that are left over on rocks and sand.

i target feed my large LPS. ive always had super great results with giving them a lil snack every other water change
