Do you think the Hawkins Echinata should be one of the must have acro?

How much light you guys give it?

Mine is in about 200-250

I’ve fragged it too much. In my next tank I’ll let it get huge

This isn’t a comparison of which coral is more blue. It’s to showcase how awesome the Hawkins coral is. The Oregon Tort is also a really nice coral too but a completely different coral. Please stop saying if you want a blue coral then get an Oregon Tort.

One of my favorites. But it looks best under whitish lights (halides). If you have a lot of blue in your LED's I would skip this one.
Always an easy-grower for me.
I'd avoid dipping.
It has one of the most unique smells of any coral I've ever taken out of the water! :)

Here's a (poor) photo of a colony from 11 years ago. The blue background on my fiberglass tank really didn't look like this in person and unfortunately takes away from the true beauty of the Hawkins. (Mine came directly from ORA).

Your so right, this coral smells 100% different than other acros. It’s honestly really odd and I forgot all about it until now. That was a superb colony, growth structure was A+ For sure thanks for sharing!!!

Mine is in a fairly new setup and so far it’s my only acro that has really “taken off” so far. To be fair I have mostly just frags and this started as a chunky piece. But I can see new growth on it at least weekly
