I added an eight-polyp frag of Charmanders to my tank over two months ago. It has seemed healthy and happy from the very beginning, but it's still only eight polyps.

Are these just super slow growers, or should I maybe try a different location in the tank?

Where do you have them placed in your tank? I have found different zoas prefer different lighting. Example, I have Vampires in drag about 3" under the water receiving about 300-350 PAR and are growing like weeds. Whereas, my Utter Chaos and Stratosphere prefer being on the bottom under less PAR.

If you got an 8 polyp it should be growing unless your tank conditions aren't the greatest.

Most of my zoas are growing fast -- some very fast. The two notable exceptions are the Charmanders and three polyps of Rastas. Both look perfectly healthy, but they haven't grown even one new polyp 😕

Just didn't know if Charmanders were known to be slow growers or if I needed to change their location to something more conducive to them growing.

Well depending on the region it might be a little tough to get a Charmander to grow. In it's home region especially you'll have a tough time fighting the first couple gyms but after that it's smooth sailing. Grow it to level 16 and you're pretty set
