So, as many may know my rBTA started feeling not so hot. After a week or so of ups and downs in an isolation cup I pulled the trigger and purchased Cipro and a 10 gallon aquarium.

Today was day 4 of treatment. Happy to say he is definitely looking better. He did not deflate at all during my water change.

Please tell us the specifics of your treatment regime and where you located the Cipro. I feel I need to do this to my nems .

Protocol for treating nems with Ciprofloxacin for bacterial infections

Ciprofloxacin from chewy

@OrionN is where I gained all my info from.

my setup was a 10 gal tankwith egg crate to divide and keep nem safe from my power head. I placed a heater Next to the power head to keep tank at 78f .I added a small piece of rock for him to attach to.

you must add meds after lights out.
You must change 100% of water each day before next dose.

if you mix water for 24hrs before you can use tap water vs rodi.Make sure to keep water salinity at same as tank.
For my first night I used some water from dt. My dt is only 16 gallons so I only pulled 3 gallons out for my water change to use in my hospital tank. After the first night/day of treatment I used fresh saltwater (no dt water)

everything can be found in the write up. If you have questions feel free to ask

Oh and tonight is day 6 of treatment. Tomorrow will be the last dose. And Sunday I will do my wc on my 16 gal. I will take that 3 gallons of water and use it for the last night the nem spends in isolation. I will also use other water to fill the tank up. I will probably not fill it completely I’m thinking have tank and half not tank water.

Little update. Nem got moved back to dt after one final treatment of cipro. No deflation since Friday. SHe was happily attached to the rock in her jail tank so I just stuck that into dt.
She seems happy. Fully open.
Will be feeding 4-5 times a week. Either a piece out of LRS reef frenzy or something like clam or oyster. The last two days in the ht I fed her a few hours before I changed water (to avoid ammonia spikes). She eats slow but is eating. Which is great news because prior to treatment she would not take food!

thank you @footgal and @OrionN

I am glad he is better. IME, feeding bivalve to anemone have not been good. It seem that every time I feed whole clam or oyster (with shell removed of course) to my anemone they deflated. These are fresh oyster and live clams. I am always into feeding variety of foods. However, because they deflated everytime I feed them this type of food, I stopped. I can speculate as to the cause, but no longer do this. It is the whole shell fish that is a problem for my anemone. Just the muscle of the scallop is fine.

I haven’t noticed any deflation. I did soak the oyster in salt water with some reef roids. I would have preferred scallop but my bf picked up an oyster. Just one. I’m going to go pick up a scallop or two in the next day or so. I am feeding it everyday due to it bleaching a bit. She lost some of her pretty colors.

i Am also dosing the tank with amino acids and vitamins for her and my corals. For what I e read this also seems to help.

This is a picture from this morning right after I fed the nems. The top one which I got from @footgal eats so quickly! The bottom one was the sick one and she is a bit slower at eating but she definitely eats
