Happy new Year, Bill! I hope you had a good safe holiday season. Progress is going great! That's a whole new animal than what I saw last time I was at the house, before the world was turned upside down. I may start putting some money aside for a future frag of this one of a kind piece.

Personally I always light acclimate for at least a week. If things look good after that I will mount it, if not, I'll give it some more time. Shipping stress is the biggest issue, and light acclimation helps alleviate the stress.

Well I gave it as much time as I could... No purple came out of any of the new growth branches for me. All green stays green. It’s been in 375 PAR for almost a year now.

So I’m starting it over. It would have been nice to have an all purple piece instead of this 3/8” nub
Anyone looking for a green Splice colony?? Lol

Oh man. It’s a legit splice though right? Mine took a while for other colors to come in. I had a small green nub. Maybe frag a few of those branches and see if it’ll do something. I’m at around 400-425 par

Yes, it’s legit. You can see where I cut the only purple off the top.

However, you can see on the mother colony shades of purple in the skin and opposite colored polyps on the right hand side but it never develops into anything more or shows up in a new branch...

Oh I see what you did now. I’m sure one day it will develop. At least you got a piece that has both colors. For the longest time, all I had was green also.

Make me an offer I can't refuse.

Oh wait. Is that how this works? Maybe you were supposed to say that. IDK. :)
