Does anyone else’s clown goby do this?

So, I got a clown goby today, I have wanted one for a while - Only pulled the trigger today. Does anyone else’s black clown goby go what looks translucent when it goes to sleep?
I turned the light on for a second and this goby that was almost pitch black had gone translucent. Is this normal? I know that these fish tend to take a while to acclimate but I’ve never heard of them going like this.

I assume it’s a defence mechanism but I just wanted to double check - These are my favourite species of goby (Actually I love the whole genus).

Okay, thanks for reassuring me! I know they hide in SPS branches quite often and it must be hard to hide with such a dark colour compared to the other SPS colours. I guess it’s one way to keep invisible in the wild whilst they aren’t aware of what’s happening.

Completely normal for fish to go "pale" looking when sleeping. One of the most colorful fish in the ocean, a madarin dragonet, is almost colorless when sleeping.

I was freaked out the first time I saw a mandy sleeping in the sandbed. Thought the poor guy had died he was so colorless.
