Does anyone have a Lieutenant Tang?

Sorry to disappoint, but I cancelled the order. The vendor didn’t ship it and extended the ship date. All was fine and well. I didn’t mind waiting.

However, my white tailed bristle tooth tang developed a taste for my new trachyphyllia coral 2 days ago. Lot of the flesh got ripped out. The coral hasn’t died yet, and I’m hoping for a recovery but don’t know if that will happen.

I trapped the fish and gave it to my LFS yesterday, but I’ve been burned by tangs eating my trachyphyllia corals too many times. The only tang I have is my Orange shoulder, and he’s been an angel. I am fine with just him. I don’t want to deal with fish eating my trachyphyllia corals anymore.

You guys won’t believe how many reef safe fish went after my trachyphyllia corals. Mainly tangs and foxface fish throughout the years.

It’s possible that the lieutenant tang would have been fine, but I’m not in the mood right now. I’m frustrated and annoyed. lol

It’s only trachyphyllia in my experience.

How is it doing? Is it with the Orange Shoulder? I’m conflicted about which one to add so I’m thinking maybe both at the same time.
I didn’t end up buying it.

@littlefoxx

I have a Lieutenant tang now. I bought one that was kind of beaten up at the LFS (a lot of scratch marks.)

I’m going to heal it and get him looking great. It might take some time, but I’m very happy I have this fish.

I will nurse him back to health. It looks like it was bullied in his old tank.

Oh no poor guy!!! Im glad you took him, rescue fish are my favorite :)

Lieutenant tangs are amazing fish. I've had one for a year now. Grows decently fast, good appetite, very hardy. When I got a batch of tangs in at the same time I believe he was the first one to eat, and he ate on day one.

Please post a picture.

He will color up more and more as he matures. Looks like they are getting along pretty well.
I did not expect my orange shoulder to completely get along with this new tang.

He was the only tang I had, so I thought he would be territorial.
