Does anyone have fish with a fang tooth eel

I have a Desjardini, a Lieutenant and a yellow belly hippo. They aren’t very large, still small but not small enough to become an easy meal. They are actually very bold and body my eels regularly.

4, now 5, sheesh, what other eels do you have and how are they getting along so far? She’s probably 10” now. The plan is to get a 220-350 gal when everyone grows more. I would love to add a Japanese dragon and banana eel one day and have everyone get along. Wishful thinking maybe.
Jeweled, white eye, snowflake, zebra and now the fimbraided! They all get along so well. The new one joined the eel pile 😂 they love to snuggle

Nice looking group!! Really, even the Jeweled? I’ve heard they are very aggressive. Wow that gives me hope that I may be able to add a dragon once I upgrade to a larger tank!

Yeah he is my most aggressive eel but only gets mad when its feeding time. I have to feed him first or he goes after the other eels and will brawl with them over food. He was my very first eel! He likes to eat blennies and cleaner wrasses though. I love him he is my little dragon eel 🙂 got him when he was a baby like 3 years ago. He is a big boy now

Interesting. Seems like they may enforce a "feeding order" similar somewhat to the "pecking order" in the chicken coop. I have never tried to keep a moray because I didn't want to deal with the feeding / cleaning issue and I didn't think they would get along necessarily in a group.

Lol Ice never seen a dragon in my store other than Ivar. He is technically a dragon eel, or the mexican dragon eel! Everyone calls them jeweled morays though. He is a great eel

From what Ive seen they love groups. My 4 just moved over and made room for the fimbraided right away with no issues. Be even shares caves with them! Ive never rried it with the bigger and more aggressive ones like a tessa or a green moray though

Oh for sure, tessas are a species tank for sure! Always wanted one but I would set it up in its own tank if I ever got one. Beautiful eels but they dobt play well with anything else !!

That’s interesting because I don’t think my fimbraided likes my white spot. I’ve never seen them together and she’s takes his cave at night even though shes laid claim to the largest one. My greyface hangs out with both but never the two fangtooths.

That is interesting! Mine do like their space but they also love to hang out in the same cave.

Well I say enjoy the “blessing” because I have yet to see it, I added Drogo as my 7yrold named him April 30. I have yet to see them together, but well I take that back. During feeding I made the mistake of not feeing her first and she put her body on him and would not let him eat until she was finished. I really hope this changes and everyone hangs out.

Yeah Ivar will do that too if he isnt fed first. He is Alpha eel for sure. Ghost is also aggressive eating so she usually gets her bite second! Give Nebby a whole shell on shrimp and shes in heaven. Loki eats last 😂
