in a 4 or 5ft tank i have a 90 gallon with a footprint of a 120 4x2x18" high i want a banana eel but i also want fish and i cannot decide what to do so looking for people who have/are doing it

not being nasty but i don't really want to know if you keep pebble tooth eels with fish as my eel will be a fang tooth

I keep 2 pebble tooth eels and two fang tooth eels. One of my fang tooths likes to eat cleaner wrasses. He also ate a blenny. He lives silversides so the fish similar to their body style is fair game for him. My other fang tooth has never eaten any live fish only frozen food. To be honesy my grouper has a higher kill count than my fang tooth eels. What fish were you conidering?

What kinds of little fish? Clowns are fine, hawkfish, dottybacks, damsels, dwarf angels, wrasses (mine only ate cleaner wrasses),

wrasse gobies royal gramma
If you keep your eel well fed I dont think it would be an issue. But each eel has its own personality. Ive kept all those fish with my my eels, even the one that eats cleaner wrasses and he didnt look at them twice. I also gad a school of zebra dartfish that lived in the same cave as my eels.

Usually when your eel learns you will feed it, it tends to not look at other fish as food

i wonder if its already learnt that as it has been in the LFS for 2 years now

might get intouch with them and ask for a deal on it as no 1 else is buying

I had a snowflake eat my firefish a few years ago lol so it can happen with any eel. But if it helps answer your question, I have 2 fangtooth’s in a 4x2’ with 3 fish and zero issues. I do tong feed until they refuse food every 2-3 days and plenty of separate caves so everyone has their own space.

Only have the WYSIWYG photo of my white spot. Struggling to get a picture, he only sticks his head out during feeding time.

Thanks! She’s good, growing a lot faster than I expected. Getting very thick compared to when I first got her, she was 6-8”. A bit wider than a pencil, eats like a pig now. Maybe she’s getting fat lol. Congrats on the fib, feisty little fiberballs. I’m sure you will enjoy.

I have a Desjardini, a Lieutenant and a yellow belly hippo. They aren’t very large, still small but not small enough to become an easy meal. They are actually very bold and body my eels regularly.

4, now 5, sheesh, what other eels do you have and how are they getting along so far? She’s probably 10” now. The plan is to get a 220-350 gal when everyone grows more. I would love to add a Japanese dragon and banana eel one day and have everyone get along. Wishful thinking maybe.
