@X-37B How long have you had yours? Does it eat everything?
I don't have that system anymore.
It will eat anything. I had it for over a year then I tore down all my systems.and moved.

@tobster How long have you had him for and is the Firefish his only tankmate?
Had him about 3 months now and yes the firefish is only other fish in tank.
I had hoped he wouldn’t be as aggressive as he is but I guess every fish is different.

@Zeeth How long have you had him for, and what are his tankmates? To get an idea.
I've had him about 3 months. In the tank I have two ocellaris clownfish, a yellow tang, a bristletooth tang, a foxface, a lawnmower blenny, a pink spotted watchman goby, three azure damsels, two lyretail anthias, a blue-green chromis, a royal gramma, and an elegant firefish.

Very neat to enjoy, and will eat everything. My first tank had one, and in 3 years grew to 5 inches. They love rock overhangs and caves, but my first and current chalk bass don’t hide when I’m viewing up close, and they’ll be an open water column swimmer under attinic lighting. When my blue lighting is taking over in the evening, my MP 40 wavemaker kicks up at higher flow for a short duration, and I notice my current Chalk Bass that is wild caught seems to enjoy a workout facing that wavemaker also going to the upper half of the tank more then, than during the earlier times of the day. Good, hardy, peaceful fish that can definitely use its bass sized mouth to eat whatever gets uneaten by other fish.

Love my chalk bass, got so many many fish that amaze me, but the chalk bass is a staple in my reef tanks.

My chalk bass knows when I am giving him love. If I’m watching him intently, he displays what I want to see. We are buds, and sometimes I gotta leave the attinics on longer for our bonding. My Copperband is still a dick, but I’ll do anything for that *******.

I have had many over 5 years. I currently have 4 although one of them is not doing great. I have had them for about a year. I am not sure about the eye issue. I doubt it is injury although who knows. I currently have 2 chalk bass with bulging eyes (looks like a big bubble and I have had at least 3 others in the past with the same thing). I have another with a swollen belly and another having seizure like activity every time he tries to swim and his color is darker than the rest. Maybe @jayhemdal could comment on the common eye issues with chalk bass. I am concerned about internal parasites with one of mine with a swollen belly now. Not sure internal parasites cause the bubble/swollen eye issue though.
