I bought some corals during the TSA live sale. I got some zoas, clove polyps, a hammer some favia, montipora, and a chalice. I was able to get 2 $1 acros and a free acro. So I figured I’d have a go at it being that worst case I lose $2. I saw online it’s better to let the corals sit in the frag rack before dipping them due to the stress a dip causes after being shipped. They were all in my tank for just under a week and then I decided to dip them. I measured out the exact amount I needed to use per the back of the bottle and dipped them for 8 minutes. Everything looked good except for the 2 acros and the monti. Last night after the dip they looked a little bleached but this morning one acro and the monti are getting pretty white. The other acro still has some color and the polyps seem to be extending. But definitely doesn’t look great. The free acro looks fine. I’m just curious if I did something wrong or if this is just something that can occasionally happen with dips. All my parameters are in check. My alk has been stable for a few months along with my PH, nitrates, and phosphates. None of my levels have changed since introducing the corals. I understand sps is tough. I’m just hoping I can figure out what went wrong so I don’t repeat mistakes. Thanks in advance.
