My tank has habitually been covered in algae and had high nutrients. I added fluconizole about 10 days ago to kill some Bryopsis. Now that the tank has been running with no filter I get results of nitrates 14.7ppm and phosphates 0.10ppm on the Hannah checkers - much lower than it was before I added fluconizole. There is virtually no algae in the display to suck it up… leading me to be confused about these readings.

As the bryopsis dies it adds back the nutrients it had locked up.
Was there a lot of bryopsis? Did you pull before dosing?

I did not pull it out prior to dosing - that’s why I am confused about my nutrients dropping.

I'd take it as a bonus and roll with it. 14.7 and 0.1 are perfect if you want to follow the 100 to 1 ratio.
EDIT: whoops I see you said nitrites. Did you mean nitrates? I never check trites
I did mean nitrates. I did not proofread today
