I know aggression can vary based on species. But, I'm curious if people have experience with the clownfish becoming more aggressive after adding an anemone, whether it be to other fish or you.
In theory, I would think them having something they are territorial over would encourage more aggression. But maybe not? My clowns are pretty chill considering some of the stories I have heard. My husband wants an anemone, but I'm afraid it will make them more hostile and territorial.

Hit me with your thoughts.

Are you getting a anemone to host your clown fish, or do you want an anemone because you like the look and want to add one to the tank?

I think he wants one that will host. I have explained to him that the ones that naturally pair with our False Perculas are going to be too large for out 32 gallon biocube. Of course there is always a chance that they will host a BTA, but I know it's not guaranteed.

Currently my clowns are friendly not hosting my BTA. My old clown hosted in a different BTA and he was a dick. Would bite my hand anytime I was cleaning the tank. He never used to do it before hosting; but he had gotten bigger when he started hosting to.

Same, I had mine with a BTA for three years without hosting. I just recently added a Gigantea and they jumped right in. So far their attitudes haven' changed because of it. They were chill beforehand and they seem the same now.

Clownfish are jerks. I added a baby blue tang to a pair and they started trying to attack it.

Then I moved all three into a QT and now they are getting along.

My female can be a witch to her mate, which is understandable. ;)
But so far she hasn't bit the hands that feeds her.
Sounds about right... He probably did something to deserve it, like breath. ;)

Watch out; my husband trained ours to eat out of his hand without telling me... the next time I stuck my hand in the tank, they attacked. Once he stopped hand feeding them, they went back to normal.
