Does humidity effect Ph

Hello group. I set up a new tank in my basement. The ph has been between 8.00 and 8.01. This is with a CO2 scrubber. I installed a dehumidifier in the basement yesterday. Last night the ph dipped as low as 7.78. I know that humid air is better for the CO2 skimmer, but could the dehumidifier be the reason for the drop?

Possible but there's also other issues like did you introduce additional CO2 in the room's air? Is your co2 scrubber recirculating (closed loop)?

I’m gonna go with… you evaporated much more water with a dehumidifier and topped off with much more rodi myself… my experience was opposite yesterday.. I have kalk in my topoff and I turned my dehumidifier on yesterday and my ph shot up cause I was topping off more.

Humidity will impact evaporation, but will not directly impact pH.

Not recirculating on the scrubber. Don't think I introduced any additional CO2. Unless a dehumidifier would, which i wouldn't think so.

Thank you for the reply. All the other CO2 scrubber I have owned had you add water to the media chamber. I have added several drops, after contacting the maker of the scrubber to see if that helps.

Have you closed any windows or doors in your home that may have been open? This will generally lower pH

Humidity does help scrubber media work better/last longer by forming a thin coating of dissolved media/water on the media particles.

I was answering the literal question of whether humidity along impacts pH, which it does not. :)
