**Edited with better picture**

I've been dealing with some high nutrients lately, so I set up a chaeto refugium in my sump.

I received the chaeto last week, and placed it in the sump Thursday.

The refugium is a section in my reservoir tub that is blocked off with aqua mesh.

I am using a Tunze 8831 Eco Chic light set at 12 hours when the main tank lights are off.

The chaeto looks white on top, and does not float.

I added Brightwell's Chaeto Grow Monday, and plan on adding another dose tomorrow.

Does the chaeto just need to adjust to my tank?

It’s hard to discern much with the red light on.
How bout just white light.

Mine doesn’t float or spin at all…..except when the ball was really small.

When you are looking in person under white light, how dark of green is is? Too pale of green can be from lack of a trace element or N and P.
Here's a better picture

There is defintely no shortage of nitrate or phosphate in this tank. I did a dose of Chaeto Grow on Monday just in case trace elements would be an issue.

That sounds good and it looks ok.

Cheato will lower your nitrates, but you’ll probably need to do something else for phosphates.

My refugium keeps my nitrates around 2-5. Phosphates will just keep rising if I don’t use GFO.

Agreed I don’t think my Chaeto has tumbled or ever spun in my sump. It always just seem to float there. I’m not sure how much waterfall you need to make it tumble but I for sure don’t have enough. Works fine and is growing out of control tho.
