Hello everyone, I was wondering if this seal looks okay to you or should I put a dab of black in there ?

Brand new, or new to you used? What kind of tank is this?

It also looks like a chip in that corner.

Thanks guys. It’s a brand new tank. Reef Octopus OCTO LUX T90

There’s no cracks anywhere thank goodness. I’ll throw some silicone in there that’s all I can do.

Don’t do that, new silicon won’t stick to old silicon. If this is brand new, return it to the store or to Reef Octopus, if need be have your credit card company dispute it. That’s not how brand new silicon looks at all.

Here’s better photos

Yeah no kidding lol

I was looking at it and it does have a huge silicone seal in between the two pieces of glass it’s like half as thick of the front glass. You can see it in the pictures.
The part that looks like it’s been scraped is actually the excess looks like.

Hmm lol what to do…

Friend, please rethink your plan. As @Fish Fan has already pointed out, new silicon over old doesn't work.

That is a new tank under warranty. If you add silicon, and then decide to go to the manufacturer, they can easily call the warranty void do to your "repair".

And as I mentioned previously, in addition to the condition of the silicon bead, it appears there may be a chip in the glass as well.

Also, understand that water pressure increases as you get deeper into the tank. This issue is in a bottom corner of your tank, where pressure will be greatest.

My only worry is that if your move forward with this tank, you might be breaking it down because of a leak in 6 months.

I won’t add silicone and it might look like a chip but it’s not it’s a smear from the silicone.

Under no circumstance should you accept this as a new tank. RUN THE OTHER WAY! That's heartbreak and agony packaged in a wet, salty box.
