I keep a phyto culture so I can grow pods and will dose my tank 2x a week with it. Personally, I can't tell if it does anything or not. I used to use it more when I had a large feather duster that lived for about 3.5 years. Curious to hear everyone's opinions!

I bought some pods and phyto to go with them about 5 weeks ago. I have been adding phyto this whole time and all I see is a BIG rise in P04. I will stop dosing it once the bottle is empty. I will then go back to dosing Fuel twice a week and no more phyto for me. lol

Same thing happened to me. I stopped dosing photo.

I added phyto to my tank on and off for many years, I can't see any difference either way. Perhaps there is a benefit on a micro level, but not something my eyes can notice.

I've also seen an increase in phosphates when dosing phyto. That was also home grown and there could have been extra f2 not consumed at that point.

I plan on trying to implement it again and go slower. I have a Trident NP, so I can watch my phosphates more easily. I also carbon dose NP bactobalance for the apparent food/health benefits.

This is what could well be leading to high phosphates, excess phyto fertilizer in the culture.

I have 120% seen a positive effect of dosing phyto. 1) pod population 2) coral coloration and growth.

When I was dosing phyto every other day in my 10g nano,my growth on zoa's was INSANE. Once I stopped,I noticed a HUGE stall in growth. Now that I am dosing again, zoa growth is picking up slowly.
