I have an ATI 24" 6 bulb T5HO fixture that I used to have over a 50 gallon aquarium. I sold that tank for something bigger but kept the light off of it. I found somebody selling a 35 gallon aquarium (24x24x15") that I am considering since I had the light sitting around, but I'm curious if that sounds like too much light for this tank?

I know most people prefer LEDs these days, but I had good results from this light before, so I hated to get rid of it. Just wanted to get some opinions or experience from those who are better with this kind of stuff than I am. Mostly looking to keep SPS up towards the top with some LPS and maybe a few softies towards the bottom.

Thanks for any help you have for me.

Doesn’t sound like too much light. Heck they make 8x24W fixtures! Just raise it a little higher like Greg P mentioned above and you’ll be good to go
