We moved into a new house with more room and promise of a big tank upstairs....guess where it's at? Garage...vicious lies!

She acts really into it, but when I say wait till we get your fish then I get the its not my fish it's your hobby. Makes me wonder what else she's faking...

She'll feed and flip a switch that's it.

Both of us enjoy it. My wife has her own Biocube at work but I mainly do the upkeep on it. She feeds her fish but does not mess with the tank at home other than sitting in the den, she will cut the tv off, read her book and stare at the tank until she dozes off.

I have never had SO MUCH SUPPORT IN THIS HOBBY . . . . . Ever since I GOT RID OF HER!!!
Sorry, but true. Im glad to hear of support as in recent weeks, we have read of sabotage from significant other.

Yikes!!

Link to the sabotage thread?

Thanks

my S/O loves the look of a fish tank, enjoys going to look at new live stock. She also has to give stamp of approval on anything that is going to be seen without opening cabinet doors. If you want in the room and you can see it, ill put in my request. She purchased the IceCap 36XL sump for the new 120 build im starting.

as far as maintenance goes, im on my own lol

My husband loves it! Doesn’t hurt that he is a member of a hunting club. Those annual dues....:)

Well considering she was the manager of the local reef store and buys me coral... Yes she's supportive lol.

Yes! Her dad had a fish room growing up, we've had tanks for 35 of our 42 years together. She prefers African Cichlids, but enjoys saltwater also.

My husband is the best when it comes to the tank. He recently built me a stand for my new 29 gl. He also is the water guy, as he is the only one that mixes the water. He loves to show the tank off to his friends when they come over , so it works out for all.

Smart man. Sounds like he convinced you that its your hobby lol

My girlfriend takes a moderate amount of interest in my tank. She likes all of the little critters on the rock work like brittle stars and feather dusters and so on. She also takes interest in the corals, so I try to get her input when buying new ones to keep her more interested. I learned to always knock $50 off the price of what I'm buying when I tell her how much it costs ;).

I travel a lot for work so I can get her to check ato levels, feed pellets/frozen, and let me know if something in the tank is going south. She's better than an apex! Next step is to teach her how to do water changes (she just doesn't know it yet).

My wife isn't super interested in the tank, but she supports me in it. She attends reef shows with me and will even go to the LFS and hang with me. I'm a happy husband. :-)
