Hi All, I am going to ask for all your help for a Friend and fellow reefer that works At Ebayfish named Scott. Many of you may know him and He has had a tought time of things lately, He has lost an Eye due to a rare disease and will lose his other Eye if he does not get the Proper medical help he needs. Which is a very exspensive operation (10,000.00) or he will lose his other eye and be totally blind. He has a brand new baby Girl and we can't let this happen to him or his family.
Please help with any amount you can as he has even fallen behind in his rent and really needs a hand. God Bless and do it for his daughter if nothing else so she has her dad to see her grow up!!!
Bill:sad:

The Link is up and working and there has been some donations made and I thank you all that have done what you can to help this Family get through this rough time in their lives.
Thanks in advance to all that could help with even a few dollars as they would help keep them off the street at this point.
Bill

Thank you for your Support and trying to Rally the Masses into a sense of helping someone in need. Scott has had more than most happen to him in a lifetime and He's a Young Man with his First Baby to support.
Every penny we collect will insure a place and time for this nightmare to come to an end!

Can I post this to other reef forum?

As a Fellow NYer from Queens Originally (Ridgewood) I would be honered to have some help for Scott from you guy's back there. I am actually leaving Tn on Thurs to Visit and Bring my Wifes Ashes back to Maspeth where she was born. I will be staying on LI (Masseppequa Pk) with my Sister and we will be doing some site seeing as I have not been to the city to see the new Towers site since after it was hit.
I also will be sending my to see if we can meet in person and shoot the breeze about the hobby!
is who I'm talking about, If you are familiar with he is a person from what i see of him.

We will keep Scott and his family in our prayers.
Thank you for your Support at his time of need! We have Given him a First Check today to Insure that The Hospital will continue to treat his Eyes as they have Demanded Pre Payment for any Future Care at this Hospital, It is really SAD the way this Whole Healthcare Fiasco Actually Hurts people in the End unlike the LIES from all the Politicians Claiming to make health care Affordable to all!!! It is just a LIE and all the Change has been for the Worse.

Well I'm Glad to Report that Progress has been made due to the generosity of all you people that have opened your Hearts and Wallets. We have been able to Deliver to Scott today a First Check in the Amount of 1,000.00 dollars to continue his treatments for the infection that has taken one Eye and could take the other if the much needed follow up treatments are not completed for his condition. Which i will briefly explain as Medical Info is confidental! This is an Infection that has ate a whole in his Cornia thus having to remove the Eye and can spread to the other Eye if not treated with very expensive Antibiotic Cream.
He also needs to have this already removed eye permanantly sewed shut and while all this cost lots of Money Scott has not even missed a day at work because his family including a brand new baby girl would not have money for Food or Diapers. Unfortunatly the Hospital will no longer treat him unless he Prepays for their services in advance.
That is why we made sure he had the money to pay for his Weds appointment with the Doctors at Vanderbilt that can hopefully save his remaining Eye from the same Fate as his lost Eye, Plus there is now Food and Diapers in the house with a sense of light at the end of the tunnel, Thanks to all that have made this happen as It would not have been this way without you all that helped so far.
We still have a way to go but Gods Plans are alway's his alone to decide the end result, But I have faith in my heart and believe this will be his to mend.

Just like to say thanks to the people that already donated. Scott is a friend and a great guy. Any thing will help in his time of need. God bless r2r and it's members for helping him out.

Just a little update on Scotts condition, He has been given close to 2,000.00 in donations from fellow Reefers and it has made a world of difference. He has been fortunate to have an Eye Doctor donate his services to do an Eye Transplant to replace his lost eye with a prostectic Cornea, And a Hospital has donated the operating room for his surgery. It may have already been done as I have not talked to Scott in over a week or two. But either way your generosity made a mans life whole again
Thanks to all that helped.

Bill, are there any updates on Scott's condition? I sincerely hope conditions are improving! Scott and his family are in my prayers!

I do not think that his condition has been improving since the last procedure to save his Eye. I have been told that it has failed and was looking like there were not many more options avaiable to him to save his sight in that eye. I will check and get some Facts if there are any to report.
Thanks for your Prayers
Bill

Just joined this site today and came across this sub forum. I am an ophthalmologist and know several of the docs at vandy eye. Please feel free to pm me or email me at [email protected] to let me know if there is something I can do either donating surgery or medicines he may need. I partially trained the current chief resident at vandy eye his first year are graduating from medical school. There are potential strings I may be able to pull for a fellow reefer.
