I am setting up a 125g reef with an apex system. Trident and DOS quiet drive pumps.

Reservoirs are 2 liters each. Looking at kalkwasser powder. Wanting to know how compatible/friendly this is with a Trident ACM? Is this a wise with my set up? If so, can you guys give me recommendations for magnesium/alk powders? As much as I expect I'll use, seems buying small amounts of ready to go liquids may not be the best way to go?

TIA

Well, right off I'd say that kalk is not your best bet. A reef that size may need much more than 2 L in a day. Mine did.

2 L of saturated kalk only provides about 0.25 dKH in 100 gallons of water volume.

What would you recommend then?

What do you plan to keep in the tank?

Both Tropic Marin All For Reef or one of the many DIY or commercial multi part systems would be a good plan.

I will be doing a reef tank. Anemones, fish, corals, invertebrates. Plan on using Oolite fine sand and utilizing rock to keep sand drift to a minimum.
