75 gal. mixed reef (90 total)mostly LPS. My numbers are close but not perfect. So the question is should I dose or not? Testing done 3 days after 20% WC w/ Instant Ocean Orange Bucket.

Calc. 400
Alk 10
Mag 1200

I was going to start dosing Red Sea Mag today to get it up to 1285 and then when I did the calulations looks like alot (290 ml) to get just a bump of 85 so I chickened out. Does that sound right?

That sounds very reasonable to me. I haven't used the Redsea Mag product but normally magnesium is more "diluted". I believe this is mostly because magnesium is less soluble in water but it also works to make dosing easier. With a more concentrated product even a heavily stocked tank would only need a few ml at most a day.

I like to run my mag really high, 1400-1500
I sometimes push 200 ml or more to get it stable once it’s stable you can back off all depends on how much you test for it. Smaller adjustments are better but sometimes you have to get it to where your corals like it.

I had read for LPS it needs to be 1350. I'll try and get it to 1285 then adjust according to how the corals look. I think I need to get my Calc up too since its been reading 400. The orange bucket IO salt used to put it about 480 I don't know how that changed. I usually shoot for 1.025. Maybe my refactor test was off before. I struggle reading it.

I don't think that 1350 ppm requirement is true since 35 ppt natural seawater isn't that high, but it is certainly fine to keep it a bit higher than the ocean if you want.

At 1200 ppm, I'd raise it.

Starting the dosing of Mag today. I'll aim for the 1285 for now. Also got some liquid calc to raise it up a bit as well. Alk seems to be happy for now. Once I get these adjusted then I will start dosing through the ATO as you have mentioned in your articles. That makes alot of sense.
