Hello everyone, any one has heard of fish dying by dosing Neo Nitro and Neo Phos?!
My 3 year old tank had a case of Dinos due to 0 nitrates and 0 Phosphates. I did a blackout method and dosed 5 ml of Neo Nitro, and Neo Phos to a 125 gallon system. I noticed the water got really cloudy upon the second dose, (24hrs later as instructed) my yellow tang and a file fish struggling to breathe. The yellow tang died the second night he was swimming close to the surface of the water, all other fish survived. Any ideas anyone what could’ve caused this?! I added oxygen to the tank and checked nitrates after each dosing and they were still at 0. (Hannah nitrate test kit)
Good news is that Dinos seem to have disappeared for the most part.
All my other parameters are stable and tank is looking better but Nitrates still at 0 a week after dosing 5ml daily, is something else consuming the nitrates?
Skimmer is off, no mechanical filtration at the moment, removed chaeto, only have a filter sock and uv light running.
