These starfish - the Double Starfish, Iconaster longimanus - a biofilm eater: it will slowly starve to death, most likely over ~8-13 months.

I can't recommend anyone keeping these or any other biofilm-feeding star at this point (other than possibly Aquilonastra stars, if they realize what keeping them entails), as we just can't feed them properly.
biofilms are typically a mix of bacteria, cyanobacteria, diatoms, microalgae, fungi, etc.
