Is there a way to download a thread. I travel a lot and would like to download whole threads so I can view them on the plane, boss, the plane.

Not that I'm aware of. In fact, I recently looked for a way to do it for a pending trip and couldn't find anything. Unlike you, I didn't ask the very good question...lol. It would be nice to be able to do so.

On laptop:
Open the website/page you wish to save
Click on the "File" drop down
Choose "save as"
Will create a folder and save as HTML
You can then open the HTML online or off and it will allow you to read

Unfortunately, you would have to do it for each page of the thread rather than being able to do the full thread.

Actually if you go to the first page of the thread and hit print, but choose save as a .pdf file instead of actually printing it, it will work. I didn't even think of that until just now. Then you can open the .pdf and read from that. I just tried it on a multi-page thread. The .pdf was 32 pages but who cares. But I did have to go to page one of the thread for it to work properly.

I'm on Chrome if that makes any difference.

How to save to pdf iphone....

To Save Webpages as PDF
1. Go to the website/webpage that you want to save as PDF.
2. Once you are on the webpage, tap on Bookmarks icon and then tap on the Save as PDF bookmark.
After a few seconds, the webpage should open as a PDF file within Safari. To save the file, tap on “Open in iBooks” link.

...you will have to do this everytime the page has an update/post added, but you will have an offline version of the full thread.

That's odd. It worked when I posted on 8/26, but I did it at my office on a PC. I just tried it on my tablet and it did in fact only do the first page. Very weird. If you want to PM the thread you'd like to .pdf, I'll try it in the office tomorrow morning.
