I built my initial setup with a decent understanding of how equipment works but virtually no understanding of maintenance. My current sump is diy and holds about 31 gallons of water volume. However I built the cabinet around it and that makes it very difficult to get to anything in the sump. I am going to get a new sump and relocate it in the adjoining room so I can have room to maintain everything and make the process more enjoyable. My aquarium is a 125 and been running for about 3 years. I decided on a sump brand but the two options contain 25 and 34 gallons of water volume. I can save over $300 dollars going with the 25 gallon. Would there be any detrimental reason for decreasing total water volume in my system? Thanks in advance.
