Besides Biota, Is there anywhere to get captive bred Dragonets that will eat prepared foods?

Nothing wrong with biota… just wondering if there are other options.

ORA also raises them....but i have always just purchased nice healthy ones from the wild and they have all ate my pod infested tanks food and they all eat when i feed them everyday my frozen foods. You just need a really mature tank. I have 3 different dragonettes in the same 40 breeder for long time now but my tank is constantly producing pods. Plus i have been reef keeping for a looooooooooong time. Good luck hope you find you a healthy one

i have a wild 1 and mine only eats pods so take what these guys are saying with a grain of salt not saying they are lying just saying a wild 1 does not always eat prepared foods
Do you have an auto feeder that dispenses extra small or smaller pellets multiple times a day?

Well then how would yours eat them 😂. I have a friend with another wild one that eats them too. Chroma boost tdo extra small or one smaller. Eventually you'll notice your mandarin eating them upfront or just disappear somewhere whenever the auto feeder goes off. Only thing is if you have a wrasse like a melanarous or something that will eat off the sand bed furiously. It's not gonna work.

Cause there's a giant predator staring at him after putting pellets in. You gotta not be around. They gotta just find them like they are natural.

No, other specialty feeders also benefit from you not being there when attempting to transfer them to other feeds. Most fish we keep eating each other's poop , anything that floats and fits in their mouth

The actual answer here is that you should assume that they will not eat anything but pods. There is no way to know otherwise.

Why not just seed your tank with pods? If you have a refugium its not hard buy a bunch from algae barn and I also recommend adding some of the pod towers. Start dumping them in and dosing phyto. Once you notice them all over the glass and after you clean they are all over it again in a few hours you should be set.
