So, I have this 29g biocube that I've had running for freshwater until a couple years ago. The previous owner removed the back wall, the AIO section and just made it one big tank. I'm thinking about turning it into a nem and clownfish only tank. Has anyone drilled out the back of one of these before?

Just make sure its not tempered and if its not, drill away! Lots of great videos on YouTube show exactly how to do it.

Lots of easy ways to find out if it's tempered or not, Google it, can't remember exactly how to do it but think I used either my phone or some polarized sunglasses, or a combination of both.

Be very careful. I modded a 16 gallon one. Removed the back space to make more room. Seemed solid. I had it in the living room when a very slight earthquake hit and it cracked pretty easily.

It is hard to say, the glass is black, so I can't get any light through to see.
Are you sure it’s not vinyl coated or painted?

Actual smoked (tinted) glass still allows some light through!
