Anyone here in central Florida that can drill a 50 gallon low boy tank for a sump and a return? I have no idea what I’m doing and I don’t want to ruin the tank.

@Monty98 - drilling a tank is not as difficult as you might think it to be. There are quite a number of threads here that discuss it. Also, have you confirmed the glass you want to drill is not tempered?

Yes I have confirmed that it’s not tempered. I’m just being overly cautious about this since it’s my first time attempting

There's a slight difference between being overly cautious about doing a task and not doing the doing the task, at all. LOL! (I mean no offense. Really, I don't. I simply have an odd way of seeing things sometimes. Just ask anyone that knows me.)

In any case, if I were closer to Orlando, I'd pop by and take care of it for you. However, since I am not close and it seems no one has volunteered yet, maybe pick up a piece of glass or, even, a cheap used tank on FB marketplace, and practice a little before doing your 50g. I'm telling you, it is quite simple and easy.

First thing, whether you hire someone or do it yourself, is you have to check to see if the glass is tempered or not. You cannot drill tempered glass:

And here's more on how to drill the tank if you want to try it yourself:

Good luck!

Some LFS also have aquarium maintenance services. I bet one could do it at your site. It would cost you a service call charge, but it might be worth it to you.
