Not really a build since it’s already done and running but I figured I’d share some of the pictures I took while building it.

I’ve always kept a Pico tank as well as my larger tank. I’ll post a pic of my current larger tank but I’m in the process of moving that up to a 140g Peninsula tank. There is another build thread for that tank on here for the 140g.

Ever since I saw the Artfully Acrylic drop off tanks I knew I wanted one. I had torn down my previous 5g Pico and sold it off due to upgrading the kitchen and it being on the counter. So, when the granite guys were measuring out the granite I had him add some extra length behind the faucet to give me room for the drop off tank. Lucky the granite guy was part of our local reef club so he understood.

I ordered the tank and waited for the remodel to be completed. Another reefer did the floors, walls and painted the counters for us. Played around with the MP10 placement. Not much I could do at this point with it.

Quick pic of it’s big brother.

With nothing else to do I decided to play with the rockscape. I must say I’ve always hated doing it and trying to be creative with only a 9g drop off had its own challenges. Here are some of the configurations I came up with. Very challenging to leave enough room to clean the acrylic and make it look nice.

After a lot of choice words and wondering why the hell I didn’t get the 17g drop off I found a rockscape I could live with. Realized the MP10 will prob not work in the tank. I ordered a Jebao DC650 return pump for it. Such a cute little guy!

I also picked up a Apex Jr for sanity reasons. I had left my old tank off twice overnight and the second time I lost quiet a bit of live stock. I also always wanted to try out the Radion lights. I could never afford 2/3 lights for a bigger tank (per the wife). So, I ordere a G4 XR15 for the tank. At this point I realized this tank might get out of control.

I found a place where rhenMP10 would work and not blow all my sand from the top shelf to the lower one. Have to keep the MP on the lowest setting.

Since the tank is a AIO I need a place to put all my equipment. Again, Presley from Elvis Aquatics was my go to guy and he made me a quick box I could mount to the wall.

I added two clowns to the tank. Picked up a sweet Picasso which I named Donald Trump since he was orange and white. Picked up a Black Snowflake which I named Obama since he was black and white. Added some other inverts and a few corals.

Decided I’d like to have a PH probe on the tank so I added a PM2. The equipment box is starting to get a little crowded.

Another local reefer gave me a free skimmer and Reactor for the tank. Problem was the XR15 Mount would not allow anything to be added in the AIO area. I made quick wall mount and screwed it to the wall. Much to the displeasure of the wife.

Since I was outgrowing the equipment box and my EB4 I turned to Elvis again for a new box. Problem was this meant more holes in the wall and the wife was no pleased at all.

Tank was moving along. I was still busy with the house so not much time to spend on it. Except for one day when the wife went shopping I added the new box thinking she would not notice. Guys are so stupid!

I like that aquascape better than the one that looked like an “O”. Looks really nice.

I fell into a crazy deal for a 25g Lagoon tank. Which means more equipment and more holes in the wall. Just a quick post with how the whole set up came to be. You can see there was a tank in the entry way at one time. I was running all three tanks off one Apex Jr. Decided since I had a extra Classic Brain I would put it to use. Ended up having Elvis build me another box. I built a light rack for it out of 8020 aluminum.

I sold the Lagoon tank, coral and live stock it paid for the 140g Peninsula tank with stand and sump that I’m building now.

Then the wife found a Beta fish she wanted from a local rescue place. She wanted to do another planted tank and I knew that a 25g Lagoon would be a great tank for a planted tank. So...I bought her a new tank and hooked it up to the Apex. Gave her my Radion XR15 FW sump light, Jebao DC1200 and cooling fan.

Could have sworn I just sold this tank. Here is the 140g I picked up and a few pics of her tank.

I was having a few problems with the drop
Off. I couldn’t keep frogspawn for some reason. Torches and hammers did great. So I removed all the frogspawn and went with hammers and mushrooms. Think there are 9/10 different hammers in there. I’ve been adding spas here and there. The SPS I had in there was doing great until my spiny urchin found and stripped them all in one night!

Obama would not stop picking on Trump. I gave him to a friend and picked up another clown which has worked out well and Trump gets along with him.

I’ve added more sexy shrimp and removed the cleaner shrimp. There is a orange serpent star, pencil urchin, spiny urchin, yellow watchman, Pom Pom crab, emerald crab and small clean up crew.

Everything has been doing well. I have changed out the skimmer two time and ended up with a nano ghost skimmer. Played with the light and finally have it dialed in for that tank. I’ve added biopellets to the reactor and some marine pure into the chamber below the skimmer.

Other than that there is some Purigen and chemipure for filtration. I do two gallon water changes every week or two.

Tank is on hold while I set up this tank.

Hopefully this will answer most the questions I’ve gotten on equipment.

Tank: Artfully Acrylic 9 gallon AIO tank
Light: Radion XR15 G4
Reactor: Innovative Marine Mini-Max nano
Skimmer: Innovative Marine Nano Ghost skimmer
Powerhead: MP10QD
Return pump: Jebao DC650
Heater: Eheim 50w
Full Apex Classic with Pm2 module
Apex EB4 and EB8
Cooling: Tunze fan
Probes: Orp, ph, dual temp sensors

Media: 2 pieces of Marine Pure, Biopellets in Reactor, Purigen and chemipure blue.

Apex controls the temp. Tank is kept at 78.1 with a +/- .2 swing through out the day.

Radion is running the AB+ LPS setting at 20 or 25% from 8ish to 8ish.

Ecotech reef link controls the Radion and MP.

I really love this tank when it comes to maintenance. 15 min for a 2 gallon water change and clean the acrylic!
