Hi reef2reef! I have a question for you guy’s. Have any of you ran a Barebottom tank with a dsb in your sump?
I just ordered “the package” from Tampa bay saltwater. It will have 40 pounds of live sand that I will be putting in my sump.
I’ve had sand in the tank before but never in the sump. What are the pros and cons
Do you see in doing this?
Thank you reef2reef!

The con I think of most is if disturbed it could cause a tank crash..the pro, very effective nutrient reduction. Personally I would never do one in my sump but have considered doing a remote DSB that I could simple remove from circulation if I wanted to. I'm using Brightwell blocks and chaeto in my sump to try and accomplish the same goals.
