Yep, they done that to me. Spread throughout the tank. Now I have to live with them.
I literally can’t throw away a crumble of live rock because it’s usable. What do I do if I can’t find someone looking for palys? I feel bad tossing them :( what do you think about them in the refugium? Would they even survive under something like a Kessil h80.

I would think so, maybe not happy though. Mine were in my sump for a long time and survived with no light.

Diatoms are gone. The water is kind of cloudy. Some cyano starting on the sand. I need to get the refugium going and get a skimmer.

Yep, skimmer for sure. UV Keeps my water crystal clear. Something to consider.

I suppose I need to see how to hook one up. Eventually getting a Nyos 160 skimmer. Might move my SCA 301 down in the meantime. Just need something as a stand to keep at the right depth.

I made a platform for mine. Knowing the required height needed for working water line.

I used some pvc pipe for legs, drilled holes in the top of all four of them. Then using a piece of acrylic sheeting, drilled holes in all corners in it. Zip tied the legs to the sheet, placed the skimmer on it and wa la.... Platform made.

Works well.

I got my eggcrate from home depot
Awesome, thanks! I didn’t think of checking there. I don’t have to wait for shipping now, I’ll buy it tomorrow.

I had no idea this was the same as light fixture grids ;Woot

I got a 4'x2' sheet in the lighting section. Albeit white, still works for making stands. I use a small pair of diagonal cutters to trim them to shape.

Enjoying my blue tank tonight :)

PVC legs are cut for a skimmer stand. Ordering eggcrate for the platform of it. Will be an undersized SCA 301 until I buy the Nyos 160.

Thanks! I can’t wait to get the real lights ordered. The current strip doesn’t light the tank well. 2 Kessil AP700s will help a lot!

Congrats on the setup!!! It's looking great and good signs with the diatoms going away and little cyano in its place (most of the time I think anyways!) :) I hear you on the battle of not buying corals in order to save for equipment. It's tough, especially with all the great live sales here on R2R! I've had to skip most of them for the past few months in order to get my new sump setup gear. Ya gotta get a few new pieces though here and there no matter what, after all that's why we do what we do! Especially since the new tank is finally ready! I watched part of the ARC sale and had to restrain myself.

Thank you! I ended up with some neat ones from ARC’s sale. Although they shipped me the wrong coral for one :( (they sent the Rhodactis and not the Ricordea) I’ve got the coral in my fishless IM 20 for QT currently.

They had a really nice selection! Hopefully they took care of you on the mushroom snafu. Although that ricordia looks pretty nice as well!

I won the Ricordea, which is what I wanted. Received the Rhodactis. Waiting for a response from them currently.

I’m looking at UV sterilizers in the meantime. The cloudy water is starting to bother me ;Dead
