So, dumb question. I have always been a proponent of vacuuming sand with a WC. This tank I’m trying something new and running moonshiners and no water changes. Tank is a 65 AIO. Thinking of vacuuming the sand and running the waste water through a felt filter sock and then pouring the filtered water back into the tank. Almost like putting a filter sock in the sump and vacuuming straight back into the sump.

Out of curiosity I wondered if there may be a better method.

Keep in mind moonshiners may have you dose things with no known biological value, and those may build up over time without water changes.

But yes you can siphon it into a sock and into the sump
