My friends Duncan colonie which he has has for 2+ years suddenly began to die off. Nothing in his tank has changed.

Wondering if u guys had any ideas what would cause sudden die off. I think maybe bacterial infection. If u have any other ideas please let me know.

Thanx

Could something be picking on it?

Check for feather dusters. I had mine low in the tank and they over a little Of it. Pesty little buggers.

Any big water changes? Supplementations? flow differences? Lighting? Temp changes? Anything die in the tank recently? Additions? Salt brand changes? Any bugs around it? All things to ask in a situation like this. Possibly try to do a coral dip for bacteria or bugs.. Watch for things picking at it. If it continues, frag a good piece of it to try to save some.

Thanks for all your replies: nothing has changed in the tank. No big water changes, nothing died.

I did suggest he dip it, but the he told me he say a algea blenny munching on it so he thinks that was what happened. If it dosent improve he will dip it and bring it to my tank.
