I have had a Duncan (picture attached) for almost a year. It is on the sand and gets low flow. the tentacles used to be pointed but seem malformed at the tips. It also has not shown any growth. It seems to eat when target fed. Wondering what to change if anything? I will admit target feeding has been random.

Thanks

I would move t up a little if you can. Try to find a spot where it can get a little more light and keep the flow somewhat low. Duncans multiply at a good rate if they are happy. You should definitely have more heads since it's been a year.

I had an Emerald crab that I caught plucking Duncan tentacles. They kinda looked like that. I put him in the sump.

I do agree the Duncan may need more light. I keep mine in higher alternating flow. The higher the flow the more pointed the tentacles. I would also feed it. Ducans are one of the fasting growing LPS when fed.

Thanks for the replies. I moved it up a few inches and will look for changes. I will try more flow also... How often do you feed it?

I placed my Duncan coral right under where the fish get feed everyday. I also have the advantage of an advanced trance element dosing I get new heads on mine every other day now.

I feed mine heavily with a frozen meaty food, pellets, flakes and Reefroids slurry once a week. I turn off the pumps for about 15 minutes for the food to settle in for all the corals. Feed them and they will grow.
