Durso overflow

I was wonder if a s pipe on drian to sump would make it quite.

Unlikely... But it depends on what the noise is you are trying to suppress...

Most of the noise from a Durso comes from, either the air being sucked in, or the weird way that that the water overflows with a single standpipe. i.e. it is the air that makes the noise, not the water...

Also, in my corner-flow tank, a lot of the noise came from the trickle of water out of the anti-siphon hole, which I suppress with an elastic and a filter pad.

The noise in sump is pretty loud my LFS said to build a s pipe above sump
