Dwarf Angels

Is there any thing special to successfully keeping them? I've had Coral beauties, flame, elibe, lemon peel, bicolor. The longest I've kept one was about a year. I've tried seaweed sheets, different frozen foods. Not sure why they have died. Appreciate any tips!

you have had better luck than me, 2 Flame angels and now a Bicolor that was doing great, I have read the need sponges in the food. I have read where they are collected with cyanide and some type of B vitamin will help. But I may try one again in the future but no time soon.

Most have only lasted a couple months

If you are getting flames, get them from Hawaii. They are net collected and no cyanide. Lemon Peels are the same. Make sure they come from a good store that gets them from Christmas Island area. I've had my Flame for over 2 years now. Got it from Hawaii, and it's healthy and happy.

I've only tried one flame, not sure where it came from that was several years ago when I first started. I got out for awhile have been going again now for about 6 years

I've had advice on using a qt tank but I don't have room for one.

here is the thing with any fish there could be a number of reasons they dont live long in our tanks. You would be suprised at what comes in with these fish when they are caught in the wild. Most of the time the parasites or illnesses dont bother them in the wild but in our systems it can cause a number of problems. The best thing you can do with any fish is QT them for a minimum of 30days and bomb them with chemical treatments. This might sounds crazy but you have to think about the other stuff in your tank as well. If you start passing disease to your other fish you could lose everything. QT is important.
