Hi folks,

I want to get a clean up crew for a 3-5 gallon dwarf seahorse tank, but as many of you may know the little horses are fragile. My thought is nassarius snails, but I need something that will consume decent quantities of dead baby brine shrimp that may float to the bottom. Will these snails keep the surface clean of the decaying uneaten shrimps? How many should I get to keep up with the load and any other suggestions?

Thanks!

The first saltwater anything I ever had was Dwarf Seahorses. Got them airmail back in 1968, 2 pairs and a pregnant male for $4.99 shipped. If I can ask---could you post a picture of yours?
I totally would but I’ve been setting up the tank and hardcore test running my brine shrimp production, so I’m just about to get them but I know the mess the decaying shrimps can make. Any suggestions?

Dear lord do I remember hatching brine shrimp. Had 3 tanks to hatch them just for 5 Seahorses that became 17 after the pregnant male gave birth( 3 babies lived to adulthood). It was a lot for a 8 year old(me).
