Tank is doing well had to treat for red Cyano last week skimmer has settled down and all cyano is gone. Still have a bit of brown diatoms, some hair algae and what i think may be bubble algae growing. I am looking for a fox face to help with some of that and waiting for diatom to cycle out. I won a Bleeding Apple Scoly in a raffle at Monster Reef, it may be coming this week kinda excited about thayt. Do have a few questions. I just ran out of reef roids. is that the best food for my corals? should I stick with that or try something else? i also use flake food for fish, would a frozen shrimp concoction be better? what are suggested foods for fish and can I bounce back in forth, like feed the frozen mysis and what not during the week and let auto feeder feed flake on week ends?

Thanks, I have bubble algae and some hair algae. The fox face was recommended to help. I’m not over run but want to get on it early. And he was one of my target fish marine Extremes on 21 and Woodlawn has several $35 each good looking little guys

I also picked up some frozen Mysis shrimp... they didn’t have Reef Roids. I am still not sure what I should be feeding onif it should be a mix. Thought I’d spot feed Nems and the new scolly with shrimp at least

Just fed the nems tonight. I usually feed them a small piece of shrimp once a month sometimes 2 months. So you should be good to go when you pick yours up.
Check out the last entry on my build thread on my nem food.

We usually feed reef roids, but there are other brands out there. I'm sure it a Ford vs Chevy kind of argument on the coral food. Unless someone can back why one is better than the other. :)

Working to get your nems off the rock, I done the dangling above the water, no luck. Now I have the power head in them trying to make them mad and move. We will see what happens.

It has, just got a solid clean up crew it’s working on some algae that built up. Slowed way down on adding live stock until this is under control. Still need one more AI Prime to finish the light assembly but we will get there.

so after a week out and no water test all still looks fine and to be progressing in the EagleReef. 2 weeks back calcium was around 340 so we dosed a bit using the BRS calculator. seems I over shot yesterday the calcium tested at 500 ppm. I am sure it will over time go down, but is anything in danger from the higher level? my chart says 450 should be top end of range. Should I take any actions?

A few pictures from the 32 Biocube that the Eagle Reef started in.
As you can see what is still in the cube is thriving maybe even out growing the tank. We are struggling with deciding what to move over to the 75 Gallon we upgraded to and what to let stay in that tank ( which is now in my wife’s classroom for her students) we want both tanks to be healthy and pleasing to the students.

GSP Island is starting to merge onto the main rock scape

And the colt coral in the front center is insane huge

All beautiful but we need suggestions on how to thin with out diminishing the tank and how t maybe rearrange. As well has ideas as to what to move to 75...

Thanks for your help!!!!
