everything seems to have survived the break. One Duncan frag is closed up tight i am waiting to see what it does. the nems are alive and locked on to spots they like and are eating but are staying really small nickel size. they were hand size when i put them in the tank???

Arrived back from our Christmas break to see Pods finally almost 4 months after seeding the tank.

Also were given a huge frogspawn and splatter hammer so we decided to make a Euphyllia garden on a piece of shelf rock we had these guys were softball size so we expect them to almost completely hide the rock when open.

Hey guys our Eagle Reef is coming along nicely as we reach the 6 month point of this upgrade. Wee are learning and finding things we can do better and areas we can improve equipment. I am posting a list of our goals and things we need to meet the goals, if i miss something or you ave a though please share. If you have any of the items on our wish list and want to help please message me or if you have them and are willing to sell for a price we can afford please contact me. Thanks for following our tank and for any help you can give. #Eaglereef

Goals for the upcoming year:
We would like to work further toward methods of stabilizing parameters. We would like to set up a reactor for GFO, a dosing pump and expand our Apex to monitor PH and have a few more spots on our Power bar.
Things we need to accomplish these goals:
We need a reactor for Carbon and GFO to reduce Phosphate .
We need GFO media
We have a canister and pharma pouches of chemicals, but need a Dosing pump to dose Calc. MAg, Alk.
We need a module for PH and Probe to expand Apex
we need a power bar we can add on to our Apex Jr.

Going to make some mods to this 10 gallon tank stand to make a stand for Dosing pump and chiller

Couple boards to make table tops

Paint it all black

Now do I drill through board to connect pump to container or just move to front edge?

Finally do I drill through tank stand wall to run dosing tubes to sump or go around back?

Ideas , opinions, advice welcomed

Seems the later in the school year we get the less time I have to post or update this thread. Tank is doing well, we haven’t added anything in quite some time ($$$). Students are still testing water weekly. As a learning experience we started a nano tank as well

A small 10 gallon with 2 peppermint shrimp.

Lots of learning and fun happening on the EAGLE REEF!!!

I think the biggest challenge is finances to keep it growing in a classroom setting. However, if i look into the reef as it is the biggest challenge has been finding a sweet spot where corrals grow and fish thrive and algae stays away. we seem to go from one algae issue to the next. second would be euphyillia we all love it but hammers and frogspawn just don't like our tank every time we get one it lasts a month or so and bails out. Keeping the kids interest has not been a challenge kids from all over school are in and out all day the reef is very popular.
