I went to plug my inbird in and noticed no power!!!

I did the reset, deleted the unit and nothing
**I was only going to use it for my inkbird and I can run that by itself but I wanted that extra layer of security
Since this is broken will this control my inkbird?

It's harder to expect an extra layer of security from a broken unit, isn't it? :)
The issue is electrical and can be repaired. Until then, the EB832 is a toast. Sorry.

Yeah I am pretty upset but I only use the apex as a temp control and ph meter.
I think that I will just hookup the new inkbird and use it as a stand alone

I've been running inkbird as stand alone units on multiple tanks for year. I had one failure where it didn't activate the heater. The unit alerted me to low temp and I replaced the unit. I see so many posts here with apex issues I would never trust one for life support systems but that's just me.

I have Tourettes and no way could I solder anything
I see, then the best bet would be to send it over to Fix Reef so they can fix it for you. Probably they may charge about $110 + shipping to send you back. Adding to the shipping cost you will have to send them. you are looking at somewhere around $140.

Other option will be to check out in the Selling forum to see if you can get one for cheaper.

Also check with your LFS, they can do for you. I pretty sure they wouldn't say no.

12 PSU repair upgrade is lower as it's a very common problem with a streamlined repair/upgrade process. Currently, it's $80 plus shipping.

If you just use it for simple on offs, you can get the old eb4 or eb8 and they last for ever.

I grabbed a eb4 for like $50

Can the eb8 and 4 be programed to cut the heaters on and off?

Absolutely. Very similar thing just older/more reliable. I use an eb4 on my frag tank, an eb8 on the display as well as 2 eb832’s.

Eb4/8 doesnt have as many current/power monitoring features. But gives you amps.
