Just as the title says. Woke up to 3 outlets being turned off including heater. Reset everything, looked for software updates, etc. The bar now will not accept control from the app or browser so I can't toggle outlets on or off. Any ideas?

Not sure what to do, but to say I have been thoroughly unimpressed by Neptune would be an understatement. Been using the system for like 40 days and already so many issues. Sounds like a great system to control everything, but has been a massive headache every step of the way. I don't really understand it either. I worked with indoor gardening controllers for decades that are very similar and never had issues like these. Is there a better alternative to Neptune? I'd rather scrap all this and get something reliable if that solves the issue.

If all your AC outlets stopped working/able to be controlled, this may be the common AC to DC power supply issue, plenty of threads about it, happened to me also.

I do agree the EB832 is designed terribly but Neptune does make decent products, I still run my A2 with EB8's as those are almost bulletproof.

I've tried a few different controllers over the years and it really isn't which is best, but which sucks the least. If there was truly a best controller, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Apex is pretty solid in my experience. Even gained a whole free system at one time because a buddy of mine and even their support apparently couldn’t fix an issue he was having. so they warranteed him a new one. I ended up taking the broken one and it was up and running in my qt tank same day. Now not to say it does not have it quirks from time to time. With the main issue primarily happening due to a power outage imo

I have something happen like this once. And it came down to short in something that was plugged into it. First thing I would do is unplug everything from it. And then power it over give it a minute and plug it back it. First make sure the outlets go back to tripping via the app. If not may have to delete and add the module. Then begin to plug things back in one by 1. What size heater to you have plugged into it.

Other notable issues to check

1) Communication issue to the router. Though with this it will typically tell you in the app

2) loose or bad aquabus cable

How old is the eb832?
there are major issues with the power supply onboard chip - 12V AC to DC power supply model YS-5V1ASZD

here is the thread: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/another-attempt-at-fixing-apex-eb832.804717/

I've been using Apex system for roughly 5 yrs and knock on glass, no issues.

The Hydros controller is another automation controller you might want to consider.

Good luck

Thank you. Will look into the DC issue

The last time I unplugged the EB it came up as an entirely new power bar lol! So the system said my original bar is disconnected and now believes the same bar is a brand new bar. So I get to reprogram all the outlets, but I verified that I can control outlets from the app/browser so its working. No idea why this happened, but its annoying and makes me want to have a back up on hand.

I love all the functionality for sure. I want to use all parts of it, but has been a struggle. The oddest thing that happened is the 1st time I set up a MWC is worked perfectly. The next day I did the exact same thing and the hoses started pumping in the opposite direction! There was a large software update that morning and it has worked properly ever since, but I thought the thing was haunted haha.
