I am planning on mounting my 2 battery back ups is a compartment on the side of my stand. In order for them to fit I plan on mounting them on their side. The batteries are sealed so that shouldn’t present a problem, should it? Also the instructions state they should be kept at 70 degrees, not sure I agree with that as ideal battery temperatures are 77 degrees. Does anyone think this will be a problem? And should I consider installing a small muffin fan for ventilation?

I don’t know for sure but I wouldn’t worry about it. You can drill out the rivets and replace with screws to see the orientation of the battery inside if you want. That’s how I replace the battery inside. There are instructions on r2r somewhere.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
