Yes, the McMaster-Carr "Continuous-Flex Soft Tygon PVC Tubing for Food and Beverage, 3/16" ID, 5/16" OD" (item 5894K33), cut to 149mm, worked perfectly.

The only thing I have to do is re-calibrate the pumps. Re-calibrate as in I calibrated them after replacing the lines and they don't appear to be moving the same amount of water, so I need to calibrate them again or figure out if the problem is elsewhere (like a restricted line somewhere).

Can I triple check that everyone is still having good luck with the lower cost options? I think I’m about due to replace my tubing as well

Mine are still working and, according that post just above yours, it's been almost a year since I replaced the tubing it.

Hello Sir @Sisterlimonpot
Do you happen to know where other place I can buy that and able ship outside US?
If you can't source FarMed tubing in that size, then I would be searching for a generic in the versa recommended size (3/16 ID x 5/16 OD x 1/16 Wall).

Searching for that size peristaltic tube should yield results. When you find something, feel free to post it here and I can let you know if it'll work.

Does anyone know what size are the clamps in the versa pump? I want to replace my tubing but also replace those clamps. I know I can reuse them but would like to know which are they if anyone else has replaced them.

Thanks

Just use small zip ties

@Sisterlimonpot Thanks for the input. Did those work on the both the 1/8" ID x 1/4" OD x 1/16" Wall PharMed you swapped to? Along with the 3/16" ID x 5/16" OD x 1/16" Wall Tygon E-1000 shown on Parkers reef video?

I called Ecotech and of course they said it was custom and couldn't tell me exactly what it was. I was going to get these since I opened it and it showed 8.7 OET on the clamp itself.

My primary use for right now is going to be dosing KALK, is the 1/8" ID x 1/4" OD x 1/16" Wall PharMed a ideal tubing to use for this?

So, you bring up a good point. All my tube replacements use the 1/4" OD, and are better suited for the 6-7mm clamps. From my experience, the 8.7s weren't able to clamp tight enough to create an adequate seal. I would venture to say the 7-8.7mm would work best for using the tygon e1000 5/16OD... or any 5/16OD peri tube for that matter.

The link you provided looks like it has a typo, they say it's used for 9/16OD, that seems impossible. And it doesn’t say what type of steel it's made of. I'd imagine if it's for oxygen systems they'd be ss.

I ended up getting both styles of tubing along with both size of the clamps. I’m going to give them a try and see how it goes.

You’re right, the previous link for the clamps was wrong. I accidentally copied the wrong site I was seeing. I purchased some clamps from the link below before you shared your Amazon link. If these don’t end up working I’ll use the ones you shared.

@Sisterlimonpot Really helpful info. The only other question I have is. Are the smaller 1/4” OD PharMed tubing ok to use on Kalkwasser? Or better to stick with the tygon e1000 5/16OD?
Actually, the PharMed tubing will last longer. The whole reason for dropping sizes from 5/16" to 1/4" was so that the versa would have the torque required to pinch the tube without stalling. The 5/16" PharMed tube is too stiff. That rigidity on the PharMed tube makes it a better candidate for kalkwasser, plus it lasts a lot longer too.

So, I am late this thread but owning 3 Versa’s I decided to give this a shot. I had some 5/16OD 3/16ID 1/16wall peristaltic tubing arrive today off Amazon. My first thought was, “ this is too big” (insert that’s what she said joke here). Sure enough, the versa jammed and would not spin. Going to see if they have the next size down as discussed in this thread and see if that works.

1/4" od, 1/8 id should work. Ive done this a dozen times. Use zip ties to cinch the tubing at either end.

The flexibility and resiliency of the E1000 allows for larger diameter tube.

Unfortunately the standard peristaltic tube are a bit stiffer. You'll need to sacrifice OD to prevent the stalling of the versa motor.
