EcoTech Vortech Power Head Placement Question

So I am going to get an EcoTech Vortech MP-10 soon.

My question is placement of the Power Head.

I currently have Hydor Koralia's on all of my Aquariums.

I have one each side in the Middle about 75% High in the Aquarium (This is how I see most people placing Non-Vortech Power Heads).

But usually when I see Vortechs in Pictures they are one on each side and in the middle of the side but it seems the difference is is that they are 50% High instead of the 75% High like you see with other Power Heads.

Why do people place Vortechs Lower than the other brands of Power Heads?

Do you have to place them like that?

I usually place my vortechs as high as I can with out sucking air into the top vortech they seem to create.

+1. It creates a whirlpool effect. If the vortech sucks in air on a consistent basis, it can throw off the calibration of the wet side. At least, that is what happened to me.

They do if they are strong enough. My tunze 6105 and jebao pumps will suck in air if to close to top
