My tank is 2 years old on the dot, its running by vectra m2. Last week sunday i woke up to a failed return pump, with thermistor error inside Mobius app. Looked it up cant be fixed, i had to run around on a sunday and met with somebody from the community who sold me an m2 for a good price. Long story short i switched the controller and it worked on my current pump. So i confirmed its a control issue.

I contacted ecotech. Thinking i will get a good customer service. Turned out they offer 1 year of warranty on their 480$ pumps. While siccee offer 5 years. They offered repairs i said no biggie, now they want me to ship the defective product to them on my own cost, and ship the pump as well. Mind you the pump working its the controller thats the issue. New controller cost 110$. I said what if i ship the product and its not repairable now what? They said oh now we will offer u a discounted rate for a controller.

I dont know if that sounds rediculous or ecotech is losing their mind. Shipping at my own cost, instead of just giving me a discounted rate on a controller and call it a day. They got mad and ghosted me. Am i over reacting, am i in the wrong? Or this companies we pay tons of money to, are not being reasonable

I think this is garbage from EcoTech, who I already think is over priced; bump to see what others think 🙂

The thing is i dont understand they want me to ship the whole unit back, and im like why would i ship the whole unit back while i switched to a different controller and it worked. And then i asked them what happens if its not repairable they said now we might give u a discounted rate on the new controller. Mind you im paying shipping to get it to them.

The controller is only 110$ just takes 20$ off or even 15$ and im buying one, dont waste my time, also 480$ pump, with 1 year of warranty?
