Effect of adding UV

I recently added a 9w Pond One UV sterilizer to my tank.
What I've noticed in 2 months
1. Far less film on glass, so less cleaning.
2. Sand cleaner.
3. Next to no crud exits return after restarting return pump.
4. Far cleaner water.
5. Reef mat roll lasting 10 days longer.
Lots of benefits for $200
