Thinking of putting this to prevent fish from jumping out. Wondering if anyone with it installed have any shadowing from the light being put above them.
 
I used egg crate for two years before switching to the netting. egg crate defuses light. doesn't have a big effect on the lighting of the tank but reflects a lot of light into the room.

Physics would dictate that if light is being reflected into the room it is not making it into the tank.

Use the clear netting as it won't affect your lighting and will provide a better cover for your fish.
